Our Vision

Our vision is to get as many Kiwis into the gym and lifting weights as possible.

Strength training changes how people move, feel, age, perform and carry themselves. It should not be reserved for athletes, bodybuilders, or people who already feel confident in the gym.

Strength training can benefit everyone and should therefore be accessible to everyone.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make strength training safe, easy to understand and most importantly – enjoyable.

In order to achieve that, we first focus on removing the barriers that often prevent people from taking that first crucial step – barriers such as feelings of intimidation, confusion and not wanting to get it wrong.

Secondly, we make it make sense. Instead of throwing you into random workouts, we introduce you to strength training in a way that is easy to understand – leveraging a clear and progressive system that builds confidence from the ground up.

Finally, we understand that not everybody can afford a personal trainer long-term and our approach is intentionally designed to front-load the guidance that you need at the beginning of each programme, so that you are supported to train confidently on your own.

You learn what to do, how to do it (safely), and how it translates to functionality outside of the gym.

Fundamentals Programme

The primary service that we deliver is our Fundamentals Programme – a structured pathway specifically designed for complete beginners.

The Fundamentals Programme is for anybody who would like to begin strength training, would also like to do so properly, but doesn’t know where to begin.

Whether you are young, old, male, female, athletic, unconditioned, differently-abled, injured, returning after a long hiatus, or completely new and feeling nervous – we’ve got a starting point for you.

Each step in our Series focuses on a different type of equipment:

A-Series: Machines
B-Series: Barbells
C-Series: Dumbbells
D-Series: Kettlebells
E-Series and beyond: More advanced training methods and combinations

Machines come first because they are stable, simple, and beginner-friendly. From there, you progress into equipment that requires increasingly more control, coordination and confidence.

Each stage in our series draws upon the same core movement patterns, so that you build skill, functional strength and confidence quickly.

This structure is deliberate and takes a ‘common sense’ approach – something so rare now that it’s often considered a superpower.

Built Differently

Our approach isn’t about creating reliance and making you dependent on our personal trainers forever – it’s about showing you how to train properly so that you eventually won’t need one.

This is arguably a very terrible business model, which is why we’re so appreciative of every single Client Testimonial and referral.

You’re in complete control of the pace – you can move through the series as quickly or slowly as you like. You might graduate from A-Series and want to begin B-Series the following week, or you might be happy to continue working with machines only for the rest of the year – our system works around you and there are no subscription or commitment costs to worry about.

Between sessions, your programme is supported through our App. Your workouts, exercise instructions, progress, habits and metrics are kept in one place, so you can train independently while still having structure and accountability.

The App also records what you have learned, which allows future programmes to be built using exercises and methods you already understand. That keeps training fresh without making it overwhelming.

In our experience, achieving results is simply the inevitable outcome of taking that first step, sticking to a really good process and continuing to show up when you’re supposed to.
